Message from October 2022

We're pleased to be back to operating normally now but this still means that you'll need to ring the sanctuary first if you want to come and see any of the cats we have.  Please do not come to the sanctuary without ringing first as some of the cats are being cared for by our fosterers and are not actually on the premises - we'd hate for you to have a wasted journey.

Message from December 2022

The Sanctuary, along with all in some form of rescue, has had a busy year.  We have had a constant flow of pregnant cats and kittens coming through our door.  Happily, all mums and babies have been homed as well as countless other cats who have had relatively short stays with us.  Fingers crossed by Christmas those that are still here will have found new homes too.

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to do any fundraising this year at outside venues but our supporters have continued to be generous.  Our thanks to those of you that have donated in one way or another.

Again, because of your generosity, we have been able to continue to help with the feeding of feral cats in our area.  Although we can’t take these little souls in we can make sure they have a steady supply of food.

Finally, a vote of thanks to all our volunteers, fosterers and helpers without who’s help the Sanctuary would not exist.

A merry Christmas, good health and a happier New Year to everyone....Here’s to 2023

VACCINATIONS

Most of our cats will have been vaccinated.

Kittens  have to be  8 weeks before we can start their vaccinations,  in which case the new owners are  expected to have this done

OUR VOLUNTEERS

We have approximately 20 volunteers who work in teams of 4, one day a week.  Because of illness and holidays we often need to recruit additional volunteers.  We find active retired ladies fit into our team best, but we are willing to consider volunteers from all ages and genders.

OPENING TIMES & VIEWING ARRANGEMENTS

=======================================

Viewing at the sanctuary is strictly by APPOINTMENT ONLY   between 11am and 2pm only.

Please ring us on 01298 816200 to make an appointment.  Sadly, if you come to the sanctuary without an appointment we will not be able to assist you and will have to turn you away.  We are sure that you will understand; we are a purely voluntary workforce and our priority is the wellbeing and health of the cats in our care.

DIRECTIONS to  --  Hallsteads Farm, 121 Hallsteads,

                                                     Dove Holes, SK17 8BU

Hallsteads is the main road through Dove Holes and Hallsteads Farm is located at the end of the private road between 119 & 123 Hallsteads (on the left-hand side of the A6 when driving north).  Please drive to the end of the cul-de-sac and carefully come down the drive immediately in front of you to the left of the bungalow where there is room to park at the rear of the property.  We request that you don’t park on the private road please as our neighbours will come out to complain to you and then to us.

Because we are a very busy sanctuary and all our available appointments tend to be filled very quickly, please make every effort to arrive on time so that we don’t have a build up of vehicles waiting.  If you expect to be delayed or are held up in traffic please contact us on 01298 816200 so that we can try to accommodate any changes necessary.
